Competition. Sweaty palms . . . butterflies . . . restless nights before a tournament . . . the thrill and adrenaline rush when you walk off the competition mat, win or lose . . . .
BJJ competition is not for everyone, and you don’t have to compete to advance in BJJ at Steel City Martial Arts. In fact, most of our students don’t compete. But for those students who wish to test themselves or use competition to take their BJJ to the next level, Steel City Martial Arts will provide them with the training and coaching necessary to achieve their competitive goals.
Steel City Martial Arts has been the winningest BJJ team in the region for the last ten years, both gi and no-gi. All of our BJJ instructors are accomplished competitors, coaches, and referees, starting with Sonny Achille who is a former USBJJF American Nationals champion and Pan-American silver medalist and was selected as the National Grappling Association (NAGA) 2009 Coach of the Year. Our students regularly compete (and win) at local, regional, national, and international BJJ tournaments, including events sponsored by NAGA, Grapplers Quest, and the International and U.S. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federations.
Competition . . . is it for you? Stop by Steel City Martial Arts and find out for yourself.
