Self Defense, Self Confidence & Fitness
Martial arts in general are a wonderful way to learn practical self-defense skills, to exercise and to stay fit, and to develop self-confidence. “Gracie Jiu-Jitsu” or “Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu,” in particular, is well-suited for women, because it was specifically developed to allow a smaller, weaker person to defend him/herself against a larger attacker. Unfortunately, many martial arts schools may be intimidating to women who otherwise would like to pursue these benefits.
Steel City Martial Arts is one of the first martial arts schools in the area to expressly recognize this dilemma and develop a “Jiu-Jitsu for Women, by Women” class. The class meets on Saturday mornings at 11:00 a.m. and is taught by our rotation of high ranking, immensely experienced instructors of both genders. This is the class you’ve been looking for!
The first class is always free, and women are encouraged to try a class even if they’re not sure that Gracie Jiu-Jitsu is right for them. No previous martial arts experience is required. So stop by on a Saturday morning and give it a try!
