Everyone who has a chance, stop by Steel City Martial Arts and train with Sonny Achille. He is a great instructor who cares for all of his students, and this you can see on the mat.

Lucky is the one who trains here.

Professor Pedro Sauer.

Some of our students have expressed their feelings about the training that they receive here at STEEL CITY MARTIAL ARTS. Take some time to read what they have written. It makes us very proud to know that we have been able to create just the atmosphere that we wanted to have for our students. Many of our students have formerly trained at other schools and have shared with us how much they appreciate the support and quality of their training.

...I have never seen or felt an impact or change in my body like I have since I have joined karate (at Steel City) At first I was a little apprehensive, but with in the first few months I was recommending it to every one. I am very petite, but I now feel strong and confident. If you are looking for a way to get in shape, I would highly recommend joining.

Elba Ocando, 48yr.old Karate student.

My initial compliment is to the instructors, they are genuinely interested in their students. It's not about teaching a few kicks and punches, they teach the whole self defense concept. I have learned more in the past year than I ever thought I could.

The hardest part was making the commitment. If you are thinking taking up Karate or Grappling do it now. You won't regret it.

Todd Murphy, Karate and Jiu-Jitsu private lesson student

I am a former student of C.S. Kim, where I trained for 1&1/2 years. At the end of that time I could kick high, perform katas (forms) and bow. Unfortunately I felt no more confidence in my fighting and self-defense skills. I train in both Karate and Jiu-jitsu. I have found an art form that combines striking, kicking punching and grappling without forms to take away from my training. You may be tired, but you will be confident and have fun doing it.

Mike Belak, a law enforcement officer.

As a parent....

Sensei Achille and his staff create an environment that is both supportive and disciplined. My children have consistently increased their confidence and skills. I am thrilled to see them have fun, be challenged and learn to support one another. There is always a high student to instructor ratio to ensure safety and personal instruction. My children are thriving at Steel City.

As a student.....

I have benefited from the excellent instruction at and professionalism at SCMA. I am consistently challenged and get a great workout as well. Sensei and his staff have guided and supported me in my goals. You could not pick a better school that will help you excel in all areas of your training.

Laura Freeman, a jiu-jitsu student and parent of two karate students.

If I were to create an award for the most well rounded training skills it would go to SCMA. I have been training in martial arts for most of my life, and had trained in the art of Tang-soo-do prior to coming to SCMA. What I lacked, Sensei Achille has helped me to develop. SCMA offers a unique nurturing atmosphere, with extremely personable instructors. No one gets left behind, but no one is belted before they have achieved their skill level. My training here has been nothing less than excellent.

Jason Birmingham, 22 yrs old

...The classes here at Steel City are taught by qualified and professional instructors, who want to help each student achieve their goals. Offensive and defensive techniques, all in a great atmosphere for learning. The program at Steel City will bring out the best in any student.

Brad Mihalyi, Brazilian jiu-jitsu student.
